July 23, 2010 Bloomington, Indiana: KIVA Night at Bloomington Speedway followed the trend set by the summer’s events at the red clay oval and was nothing short of a fantastic night of racing.

Danny Holtsclaw won the Grimes Pools & Spas sprint feature. Thrills and spills came early as cars flew at a blistering pace and Bobby Stines of Martinsville and Dakota Jackson of Elizabethtown got together and flipped. After the red flag, Danny Holtsclaw of Bloomfield turned on the jets and got around Brady Short of Bedford and Nick Bilbee of Indianapolis to lead. Holtsclaw was able to get his first win at Bloomington this season as he held off Short after a late yellow set up a two-lap shootout to the finish.

“We were flying all night,” said Holtsclaw. “I burned the brakes off of it and got saved by that yellow. We’ve been shut out here so far this year before we got the win tonight, so I’d rather be lucky than lose again.”

The next night at Bloomington is the tenth annual South Central Building & Construction Trade Council Night on Friday, August 6. The event will feature Grimes Pools & Spas sprint cars, O’Neal Wood Products UMP modifieds and Tire & Wheel Center UMP Indiana super stocks. Grandstands open at 5:30 with hot laps at 6:30 and racing starting at 7:30pm.
